Batch Image Recolor
A downloadable tool for Windows, macOS, and Linux
Image Recolor is a lightweight desktop app for recoloring textures, icons and artwork. Use intuitive HSV sliders and a live preview to tweak hue, saturation and value with precision.
Why I built this:
When modding, I needed to recolor textures and icons (6000+), swapping out colors to different presets. The challenge was that WoW uses specialized formats like BLP that most standard image tools don't handle well. So, I built a tool to handle this specific format, and handle batch conversions. I made it more generic to handle more than just BLP images.
Supported file formats:
- Standard: PNG, JPEG, BMP, GIF, WebP, TIFF, AVIF
- Specialized: BLP (World of Warcraft textures with DXT1/DXT3/DXT5), DDS
- Vector: SVG (import only)
Key features:
- HSV-based recoloring: Live-adjust hue, saturation and value with instant preview.
- Two recolor modes: Quick hue-scaling for fast edits, or a smart mask-based method to recolor dominant colors.
- Interactive UI: Zoom, pan and preview changes in real time for detailed work.
- Batch processing: Recolor and export multiple images in one go.
- Local-first: Settings and caches are stored locally. No internet, API key, or subscription required.
